City Ordinances

Alarm Ordinance: To respond to emergencies more efficiently, the City of Maricopa adopted an Alarm Ordinance. This ordinance requires that you obtain a permit for your alarm system. This will allow the Maricopa Police Department to monitor closely alarm activity and identify alarm users. It also will enable us to contact the appropriate individual in response to the alarm call. Alarm users are responsible for preventing and responding to malfunctioning alarms.

Noise Ordinance: The City of Maricopa understands that construction needs to occur in order to continue the growth and development of the city; however, it is important that development only occurs at designated times when it is within 1,000 feet of a completed residential structure.

Subdivision Ordinance: Subdivision of land is the method of transforming community goals for residential development into reality. Good subdivisions lead to permanently stable neighborhoods offering residents safe, healthful, and pleasant living conditions. The City of Maricopa Subdivision Ordinance establishes the wishes and goals of residents in development of neighborhoods. It provides a basis of understanding and equitable treatment between private developers and the City.

Zoning Ordinance:The Development Services Department enforces Maricopa's zoning ordinance to preserve, protect and strengthen city neighborhoods. It implements the city's land use policies to protect the character, harmony and stability of residential and business areas. The department also maintains and updates the city's official zoning maps.
