Closure of SR 347 at Union Pacific Rail Road.
Union Pacific Rail Road (UPRR) will be closing the rail road crossing in Maricopa on November 21-22 at State Route (SR) 347 and restricting traffic to one lane in each direction for an additional six weeks. The delays are to allow UPRR to complete there double-tracking project and ADOT to re-surface and re-curb SR 347 approaching the crossings in both directions.
Phase1
From Friday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. to Monday, Nov. 23 at 6 a.m. the 347 crossing over the railroad tracks will be completely closed. All traffic will be detoured between West Honeycutt Road and Edwards Ave to a shoofly over the tracks approximately 250 feet west of the tracks.
Crews will work around the clock to complete all railroad related work, including adding a second track and upgrading the train's signal system.
Phase 1 Closure Map in Effect:
From 8:00 PM Friday, November 20 - to - 8:00 AM Monday, November 23.

REMEMBER:
- Patience is a Virtue: After the first few days, we expect that traffic will begin to flow smoothly.
- Support our Children: Please help minimize school delay by providing extra courtesy to school buses transporting our children. For updated bus route pick-up times go to www.maricopausd.org.
- Safety First: Continue to obey all traffic signs & construction restrictions.
- Look to the Signals: Intersections with left hand turn arrows are the safest place to make a left hand turn.
- Think Ahead: Plan your routes, leave early and use the alternative routes whenever possible.
This will be a short term inconvenience to all of us but these improvements are essential to the long term growth and development of Maricopa. We thank you for your cooperation
