The City of Maricopa was awarded a grant by the Arizona Department of Transportation for improving the city’s park and ride center and the purchase of a transit bus. The improved park and ride will offer commuters a greater sense of security and convenience, including additional parking, restrooms and a closer proximity to highway 347. The route of the city bus is anticipated to be intra city, which means residents and visitors will have greater access to businesses and services. Both of these projects are expected to stimulate the city’s economy through the provision of jobs and better access to city services.
