Vehicle Impound
ARS 28-3511(A) mandates that law enforcement agencies will remove and either immobilize or impound a vehicle for up to 30 days if an officer determines that a person is driving the vehicle while any of the following applies:
- The person’s driving privilege is suspended or revoked for any reason, or
- The person has not ever been issued a driver license or permit by Arizona and does not produce evidence of ever having a valid driver license or permit issued by another jurisdiction
- The driver was operating a vehicle without a certified ignition interlock device when that person is subject to an ignition interlock device
- A person driving the vehicle is in an accident, and has no proof of insurance, and has a suspended, revoked, or cancelled driver’s license for any reason or has never been issued a driver’s license
- If the driver is arrested for aggravated DUI, extreme DUI or for operating a vehicle while under the age of 21 with any spirituous liquor in the person’s body
