SmallBizTraining

Goal: Promote sustainable, healthy economic development through direct assistance to local entrepreneurs and small business startups in learning the tools of the trade required to successfully launch and grow their small business concepts.

Program Overview
According to Carl Schramm, president and CEO of the Kauffman Foundation in a statement in October of 2008, “More than 70 percent of voters say the health of the economy depends on the success of entrepreneurs, and a full 80 percent want to see the government use its resources to actively encourage entrepreneurship in America." The Entrepreneur Training Program is designed to help entrepreneurs and existing small business owners learn the steps needed to achieve their business development goals. The program is evaluated annually for modification and customization to the unique needs of the Maricopa business community.

Effective Local Business Marketing with Local First Arizona
Effective business marketing today is reliant upon peer to peer recommendations, customer feedback, and each business’ ability to capitalize on positive customer feedback to grow their consumer base. Local First Arizona plans to give the businesses in Maricopa not only the ability to communicate better to their customers, but to effectively build a network of support through social media as well. Utilization of social media is gradually replacing traditional advertising, because of its cost effectiveness and ability to build customer loyalty. Further, this method has proven to be effective across multiple generations who are cross referencing public opinion to determine where the best opportunities exist for positive experiences.

NOTE: this workshop will NOT be how to create a Facebook page. This will be for people who already have a FAcbook page and are looking for better, more effective ways to market themselves. Attendees don't have to be advanced by any stretch, beginners are welcome, but we will not be teaching the nuts and bolts of getting set up.
