City of Maricopa Sustainability

As the city of Maricopa continues to grow, the City Council and staff understand that the decisions we make now will have long-term impacts on the community's economic, social, and environmental sustainability. In our day-to-day operations, the City works toward achieving a vision for Maricopa where residents live, learn, work, worship, and play within its borders. We invite you to see the initiatives our city organization and community members have underway to become environmentally sustainable, and we challenge you to think green too.

 

Green-BusinessGreen Business Program

This is a voluntary incentive program designed to encourage businesses to take an active part in reducing greenhouse gases and serve as a model for sustainable business in the city of Maricopa. Incentives and assistance will be provided to encourage businesses to implement proactive actions that protect, preserve and improve the environment. Meeting the criteria of this program will certify a business as a Green Business.

Green-ConstructionGreen Building Incentive Program

The city of Maricopa has established a Green Building Incentive program for new construction of commercial and mixed use (residential/commercial) projects that are built to the green standard of the United States Green Building Council Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.

SolarSolar Rebate Program

The city of Maricopa's new solar rebate program is designed to encourage the installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential or commercial buildings. The City will provide a monetary rebate incentive of 60 cents per DC watt installed, up to $3,000 per household or commercial building.
