Department Initiative:
The Parks & Maintenance Division installed energy efficient lighting in the restrooms, concession stand and expansion fields of Pacana Park. The smart bulbs in the restrooms and concession stand have a life expectancy of five years. Whereas the Musco lighting in the expansion fields includes an automated monitoring system that reduces staff time and prevents the lights from turning on unless needed.

Maricopa High School Football program hosted Youth Night on September 30th. MHS invited the Maricopa Youth Tackle Football & City of Maricopa's Youth Flag Football programs to the event to help support the high school football team and to help bridge the gap from the different football programs in the city. The teams were announced & allowed to participate with the cheerleaders to welcome the players back onto the field at the beginning of the 3rd quarter.
