Banner Health Center | In Development Process

 

The center, which is the first major medical facility in the community, is the result of a public/private partnership between the city of Maricopa and Banner Health that was approved by the Maricopa City Council Tuesday, Feb. 22. Expected to open Phase I (a 40,000 sq ft building) at the southeast corner of Porter Road and Alan Stephens Parkway in mid-2012, the project will provide primary and specialty medical care to residents.  The groundbreaking ceremony for the center was held on July 23, 2011 and the grand opening is scheduled for May 16, 2012. Pinal Power LLC | In Planning Process

The Pinal Biomass Power Facility is a 30 net megawatt biomass-fueled electric generation facility being developed in Maricopa by Arbutus Bio-Energy, LLC, an Arizona-based renewable energy company specializing in biomass power generation. The facility will be fueled by clean biomass, and fuel supplies in the future will likely be supplemented with regionally grown fuel stock crops. It will be located along the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway adjacent to the existing Pinal Energy Ethanol Plant. The project is anticipated to be break ground in 2012 with start of operations by 2014.

Central Arizona College Maricopa Campus | Under Construction

In 2006, the District began leasing space in the city of Maricopa for offices and classrooms to serve the surrounding community. In September 2010, the District purchased 217 acres in the city of Maricopa for the Maricopa Campus, which is anticipated to be large enough to serve up to 15,000 students at buildout. The master site plan for the campus is currently being developed and is expected to be completed in FY 2011.  The groundbreaking ceremony for Phase I of the campus occurred on December 16, 2011.

The Wells by Shea Properties | Pads Available

A 630,000 square–foot commercial retail development by Shea Properties has opened Phase I. Located off the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway less than two miles from John Wayne Parkway, this center will incorporate complimentary big box retail, a hotel, multi-family residential units, and office space. Walmart opened its doors to a crowd of shoppers on May 20, 2009. As of December 30, 2011, permits have been pulled for the construction of a 13,000 sq ft shop pad at the hard corner of Porter Road and the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, and is anticipated to start construction before the summer of 2012.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites | Restaurant Pads Available

Planning has begun for the development of a Holiday Inn Express and Suites at this location just south of the intersection of Hathaway Ave and John Wayne Parkway. The developer received site plan approval from City Council on this project in February 2011 and paid for and received building permits in December of 2011.

Maricopa Grand Professional Village, by UTAZ | Sites and pads available

At the northwest corner of Smith-Enke and Porter Road, this development includes the City's first brick-and-mortar library facility which opened to the public in June 2009, with an average of 60 visitors per hour. The remainder of the center will include office and medical suites which can be leased or purchased.

Sonoran Creek by Sonoran Creek, LLC: Phase I | Building Plans Approved

Sonoran Creek is located at the southwest corner of Edison Road and John Wayne Parkway. Phase I buildings are approved for construction, and infrastructure improvements are completed, making this a shovel-ready development. The project is working to gain final approval from FEMA regarding floodplain status on the property and will then be moving forward on construction.

Trinity Crossing Center

Trinity Crossing Center is located just south of the new Walmart Center on Porter Road. The site comprises 21 acres of land and is suitable for businesses needing commercial or light industrial zoning (CB-2 and I-1). Portions are under construction, with plans for up to 30,000 of light industrial space in Phase II.

Maricopa Station

125,000 square feet of retail space will be located on the northeast corner of Smith-Enke Road and John Wayne Parkway, behind the existing CVS Pharmacy. In December of 2011 the site was purchased from a new development firm that is hoping to reinvigorate the property and move forward on construction as soon as possible after securing an anchor (large) tenant.

A 105,000 square foot development is planned for construction on the northeast corner of John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road. It had previously secured tenants such as Arizona Federal Credit Union and Ruby Tuesday's.

Vestar Development Co. | Conceptual stages only

Located directly to the west of The Wells, this center will incorporate big box retail developments as well as other retail, restaurant, and entertainment amenities. Planned size is 59 acres with 950,000 gross leasable sq ft.
