The City of Maricopa is pleased to announce the release of a nonprofit funding program request for proposals (RFP) This RFP is to provide direct monetary grants to eligible nonprofits that deliver health, human and/or quality of life services to the residents of Maricopa. The goal of the program is to partner with community organizations and institutional interests.

Program Requirements:

  • An agency must be able to provide IRS letter sanctioning non profit status
  • Applicants must provide direct services which improve the health and welfare of Maricopa residents that have measureable outcomes.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability to generate revenue from other sources for future sustainability.
  • Priority will be given to services and initiatives that support and address the City of Maricopa Strategic Plan. This plan can be located at http://strategicplan.maricopa-az.gov
  • Request from religious organizations must be for secular human services
  • Funding will be provided on a year to year basis at the discretion of City Council
  • Grant funding will be provided to awarded agencies on a semi-annual basis.
  • Grant Awardees will be required to complete quarterly reports at 3 month intervals and provide a presentation to City Council at the end of the first 6 months.
  • Maricopa City Council has the discretion to award a lesser amount than requested.
  • Applicants that have received previous funding must be current in their reporting requirements by submitting timely and accurate quarterly reports.
  • The Maricopa City Council may set aside up to 1% of the City’s operations budget each fiscal year.

RFP information and applications can be found under the Bid Opportunities section of maricopa-az.gov. Applications will be accepted from Dec. 7 through 5 p.m., Jan. 31. No late applications will be considered for funding.
