Honor_Guard_webThe City of Maricopa Police Department (MPD) is proud to announce the inclusion of the MPD Honor Guard in the Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade.

“The Spirit of the Southwest Centennial Celebration” will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 31, in central Phoenix. It will be televised via ABC and their local affiliate, KNXV Channel 15. The Fiesta Bowl Parade is a time-honored valley tradition that features a vibrant array of colorful floats, marching bands, balloons and more. The two-mile parade route will be filled with residents and visitors in the valley to support their favorite college team.

The MPD Honor Guard will carry the national colors at the start of the parade. “This is a tremendous honor for the Honor Guard and the City of Maricopa,” said Steve Stahl, Chief of Police. “To be able to honor our nation while representing our community is an outstanding opportunity and the Honor Guard is extremely proud to be able to be a part of the 2011 Fiesta Bowl Parade.”
