The department is divided into four major divisions,with the Patrol division being the largest. This division, lead by two lieutenants, includes the Traffic Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Criminal Investigations, K-9 and Patrol. All Maricopa police operations are headquartered at the Interim City Hall complex, located at 45147 W. Madison Ave. in the city of Maricopa. (Click here for a map)

On July 2, 2007, the Maricopa Police Department began routine patrol duties within the City of Maricopa. Starting with day shift operations and employing 21 Officers and Professional Staff, the Department responded to or answered a variety of calls. Today, the department is a 24/7 operation, with 61 full time employees of which 55 are sworn peace officers. The department averages approximately 16,000 calls for service per year.
