VIPS-2 Maricopa Police Department provides the opportunity for community members to volunteer their time and talents to assist in police and law enforcement functions. Some the functions and programs under the volunteer program include:

  • Records assistance
  • Special Projects/Events
  • Victim Assistance Program
  • Citizens on Patrol

Victim Assistance Program

The Maricopa Police Department's Victim Assistance program is available to all victims of crime committed in the City of Maricopa. Our program offers 24/7 on scene crisis and information services to assist victims successfully cope with traumatic situations and interact with the Criminal Justice System. These services are provided by trained volunteer victim advocates.

 

It is the goal of the Maricopa Police Department's Victim Assistance Program to enhance the treatment of victims and survivors of criminal acts by providing them with services that can assist them in recovery as quickly and fully as possible.

 

Services are provided to:

  • Surviving families of homicide victims
  • Victims of sexual assault
  • Victims of domestic violence
  • Victims of violent crime
  • Victims of stalking
  • Victims of non-family assaults and violence
  • Surviving families of suicide
  • Surviving families of fatal accidents

 Services Provided:

  • Education of Victim's Rights (click here to see Victim's Rights)
  • Support during criminal investigations
  • Information about the criminal justice process
  • Assistance with victim compensation claims
  • Referral to community resources
  • Assistance with Orders of Protection
  • Phone Loan Program
  • Transportation as appropriate
