Maricopa Builds Bridges with Canada: Part Two!

City Participates in the Great Canadian Picnic to Greet Current Visitors and Entice New Ones

The 60th Annual Great Canadian Picnic was held at South Mountain Park Preserve on Saturday Feb. 4 and City of Maricopa staff and representatives of the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce and Province Active Adult Community were there to welcome the attendees.

Tim Austin of Meritage Homes Province Active Adult Community in Maricopa said “we knew there were a large number of Canadians that live in Maricopa as well as the Phoenix area during the winter season, and we seem to have found them today!”

Seelhammer Named 2012 Jack DeBolske Honoree

Interim City Manager is First Female Award Recipient

Cynthia Seelhammer, Interim Assistant City Manager, has been named the 2012 recipient of the prestigious Jack DeBolske Award. Seelhammer received this honor during last week’s annual winter meeting of the Arizona City/County Management Association (ACMA) in Sedona. The award is the highest honor bestowed upon any City Manager by the statewide professional organization. Seelhammer is the first woman to receive the award.

All-Mail Ballot Election: Registration Deadline Feb. 13

VoteThe City of Maricopa will be conducting an All-Mail Ballot Election on March 13, 2012. No polling place will be provided for this election.

A ballot will be mailed to each qualified elector in Maricopa no later than 15 days prior to Election Day. You must be a registered voter in Pinal County in order to receive a ballot. Deadline to register to vote in this election is Monday, Feb. 13, 2012. Citizens can register to vote at City Hall or online at www.servicearizona.com.
