The "Khwik" in Khwikball, according to inventor and Maricopa khwikballresident Scott Cloran, indicates not only the frenetic pace of play but the ease at which the game can be picked up and played — even by someone with no formal background playing other sports. It blends elements of Racquetball, Volleyball and Pickleball.

Khwikball is played with a racquet similar to that used in Pickleball and a ball that is a larger, squishier version of a Racquet ball. It can be played with as few as three players per side or as many as ten. Utilizing a special net that allows points to be scored by hitting the ball over or through a hole in the middle, the game can be played on just about any surface — a tennis court, a racquetball court, even the beach.
