Lateral Transfers.

The Maricopa Police Department hires qualified candidates who are currently State of Arizona certified police officers. Candidates must meet the minimum requirements of the position and complete a police officer application.

  • Candidates must complete the City of Maricopa application. MPD
  • The AZPost and Maricopa PD Background Questionairre need to be completed and notarized.
  • Once the candidate completes and returns the required forms, qualified candidates who do not have disqualifiers will be scheduled for an interview. Those candidates who are successful will participate in the background process.
  • The medical examination, psychological evaluation and drug screen will be scheduled during the background process.
  • Upon successful completion of the above processes a conditional job offer will be given.
  • The offer letter will include a starting hourly rate based on years of service as a certified police officer, meeting AZPost standards, ranging from $50,000 to $61,000 plus additional income for a college degree from an accredited university or college, $1000 to $3000.
