COVID-19 Copper Sky Programs and Facilities Update 3.18.2020

Post Date:03/18/2020 11:39 AM

March 18, 2020

Valued Maricopa Residents and Copper Sky Members,

You likely have many questions regarding the status of the Copper Sky facilities and programs; we want to share that we are formulating a plan on how to best provide you with recreation opportunities while ensuring your safety, through the recommendations of our County and State health departments.

As of March 18, 2020, Copper Sky Multigenerational Center remains open. Per the recommendations for social distancing and limiting gatherings, it is imperative that we modify or cancel several services and recreational activities currently offered to our members and guests. At this time, Group Exercise Fitness classes and childcare for children age seven to 11 (CW–Active and CW–Leap) have been canceled.

We will continue to provide Child Watch (ages eight and under) on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Class size is limited to eight children with two staff to ensure we remain at or below the 10-person recommended threshold for gatherings. Parents and/or child(ren) displaying any symptoms of illness will be unable to utilize child watch services. In order to accommodate as many members as possible, each family’s time in Child Watch is limited to 60 minutes and only Copper Sky members may use the program at this time.

While we work through this challenge, Copper Sky staff still wants to encourage you to exercise and remain active, both foundations for promoting a strong immune system. You may expect additional recreational content over the next few weeks from ideas for outdoor activities, to contests, and even streaming live classes from your favorite Copper Sky instructors from the comfort of your home. Let’s use the miracles of technology to stay close as we are forced to separate.  Don’t forget to tag us when you work out, using the hashtag #CSFitTeam, and inspire us with how you have kept active during this time – we would love to share.  Let’s stay connected Maricopa!
