City of Maricopa Offers Programs for Special Needs and Senior Assistance
Maricopa, Arizona, March 25, 2020 - The City of Maricopa offers resources to assist our senior citizens and those with special needs as outlined below:
You Are Not Alone (YANA) Program
Being alone is one of the greatest fears senior adults have as they grow older. YANA can save lives and help individuals with limited mobility.
This is a free service where trained volunteers perform home visits, regular phone calls and referrals to community resourcse, providing comfort and peace of mind to older adults and individuals with limited mobility or who have suffered an accident or fallen sick. You may learn more and register for online for the service here, through the Family Advocacy Center or by calling City of Maricopa Police Department at 520-316-6800.
Special Needs Registry
Special Needs Registry is a free and voluntary service that provides special assistance during emergency and disasters.
The registry helps Maricopa emergency responders and police better assist residents with special needs in the event of an emergency. It provides first responders vital information regarding a participant’s disability, health and medical information, emergency contacts and other relevant information. Through the program, dispatchers can offer police and other emergency responders important information needed to successfully interact and engage the registry participant. Learn more about the program here.
