Maricopa, Arizona, June 16, 2020 The City of Maricopa will be celebrating the 4th of July with a live fireworks extravaganza on Saturday, July 4th starting at 9:00 p.m. The fireworks display has been custom designed so you can view the show from the comfort of your own home and backyard.
The fireworks display will be held at two locations in the northern and southern parts of our city for all to see. The displays will occur simultaneously for about 15 minutes and feature high altitude fireworks that promise to fly higher than any of our previous shows.
“Even though we aren’t able to celebrate the 4th the way we normally would, we want to provide a little piece of normal for our residents,” said Nathan Ullyot, Director of Community Services . “We’re hoping our residents will be able to see the shows from anywhere in the City. We will also connect through social media and photo contests, with some pretty sweet prizes.”
Copper Sky Recreation Complex will be closed at 6 p.m. on July 4th to prepare for the display and will remain closed throughout the evening. The additional location will be released closer to July 4th. The location will not be accessible to vehicle or walk up traffic.
We will be releasing information about activities and contests you can participate in at home. Follow our social media pages for more information as the 4th of July draws closer. For any questions regarding this event, please contact Nathan Ullyot at (520) 316-6966
