Maricopa, Arizona, July 28, 2025 The Traffic Signal Box Art Program is back for Round 3, and we’re looking for bold, brilliant artists ready to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary!

This is your chance to leave your creative mark across the city by transforming everyday traffic signal boxes into stunning public art. We’re looking for vibrant colors, imaginative themes, and designs that spark community pride and surprise around every corner.

Not only will selected designs be showcased on a real traffic signal box at one of our bustling intersections, but they’ll also shine across the City’s digital, print, and social media channels giving your work the spotlight it deserves! We know our local artists are bursting with creative talent, and we can’t wait to see the jaw-dropping masterpieces that will energize our streets and inspire the entire community.

Want to see your art on a box?

Artists are invited to submit colorful sketches for aluminum utility boxes measuring 69 or 74 inches tall, 44 inches wide, and 26 inches deep. The designs should be richly detailed, offering the selection committee a vivid preview of the final artwork.

Just like the previous round, these signal boxes will be hand-painted by the artist to ensure their personal, artistic touch will shine through with every brushstroke!

When are submissions due?

Artists must submit their captivating designs with their application by Monday, September 8, 2025 by  5 p.m.
