City of Maricopa Previews New Website, Launch Set for April 21

Post Date:04/08/2026 1:18 PM
Maricopa, Arizona, April 8, 2026 The City of Maricopa is gearing up to unveil a new and improved website.

During the April 7 City Council meeting, councilmembers and the public got a first look at the redesigned platform. This marks a major milestone in a project that has been underway since fall 2024. Approved as part of the FY 2025 budget, the effort represents nine months of work to modernize the City’s digital presence and improve how residents access information.

“I'm very excited about the new website. It will bring a much more modern look as well as being much more user friendly,” said Councilmember AnnaMarie Knorr.

Built for a Growing Community

As Maricopa continues to grow, so do the expectations for how residents access City services and information online.

The new website has been designed to meet updated federal accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which now set clear standards for how public sector websites must function. These guidelines ensure that digital content is usable for people of all abilities, including those who rely on screen readers or other assistive technologies.

For residents, that means a more inclusive and user-friendly experience. For the City, it means a stronger commitment to making information accessible to everyone.

To support this effort, the platform also includes built-in checks that help staff meet accessibility standards before content is published, creating a more consistent and proactive approach moving forward.

“Going through a similar process myself with updating a website, I know how important it is to get things right and ensure quick and easy access to information and I think these upgrades are a step in the right direction,” said Vice Mayor Vincent Manfredi.

Designed to Get You There Faster

In addition to accessibility, the new website focuses on making information easier to find.

The City’s news section and calendar have been expanded with more visual elements and preview text, allowing users to quickly scan for relevant updates without clicking through multiple pages. The calendar also features enhanced filtering options, helping users sort events based on their interests.

Search functionality has also been significantly improved. The new predictive search tool offers autofill suggestions based on commonly searched terms, helping users find what they need faster. Behind the scenes, content has been reorganized and structured in a way that makes information easier to locate.

What to Expect on Launch Day

The new website is scheduled to go live on Monday, April 21 at 9:00 a.m., with a seamless transition expected for users.

While the look and navigation will feel new, residents can continue to rely on the site as their go-to source for City news, services, and updates.

This launch represents more than just a redesign—it’s an investment in accessibility, efficiency, and the overall user experience as Maricopa continues to grow.
