The Maricopa Fire/Medical Department, in partnership with Maricopa Seniors, Inc., offers a Residential Lock Box Program to provide an alternative to forced entry for residents who may require emergency assistance. This program specifically uses lock boxes from Kidde Safety.

This program is designed for seniors, individuals with medical conditions, those who live alone, or anyone living within the Maricopa Fire/Medical Department’s response area. By installing a secure lock box on their home, residents ensure that first responders can gain rapid, authorized access without causing damage.

Residents interested in participating should contact Maricopa Seniors, Inc. to purchase and arrange for the installation of a lock box. Information and order forms are also available at the Maricopa Fire/Medical Department Administration Office. Once installed, Maricopa Police Dispatch Services are notified that the home has a lock box, so emergency responders are aware of its presence. However, only the Maricopa Fire/Medical Department has the key to access the lock box—ensuring that entry is secure and controlled solely by fire personnel. Lock boxes are capable of holding multiple keys, including those for main entry and security doors. Fire personnel do not place keys inside the lock box during installation; residents will coordinate this step separately.

This program provides peace of mind to residents and their families, knowing that help can reach them quickly and securely when it matters most.
