Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Maricopa Public Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to support and enhance our library. They raise funds to support literacy programs and other library activities. Gently used books are available for purchase from the Friends bookshelf at the library. They also host semi-annual book sales in the spring and fall.
The Friends of the Maricopa Public Library meet on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are held at the Maricopa Public Library. All members are welcome to attend. Their Annual Membership meeting is held on the second Monday in June at 5:30 p.m. and all members are encouraged to attend to vote on board elections.
The library is always looking for dependable volunteers. To volunteer at the library, you must be 15 years or older. Simply fill out the application form and return it to the circulation desk. The volunteer coordinator will contact you within 2 weeks.
The library currently has openings to assist with:
- Children's Craft Programs
- Ongoing tutoring and reading programs
- Special Events
The library accepts donations of books, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and video games. All donated items should be in good condition. The library does not accept newspapers, textbooks, or periodicals as donations. Please only drop off donations during regular hours of operation. Donations are accepted at the front desk. Please do not drop off items after hours or place them in the dropbox.
