The General Plan provides the City with the blueprint for an enhanced economy, orderly growth and support of Maricopa’s neighborhoods and desired community character. The Plan is intended to implement, and where necessary expand on the planning goals and strategies of the citizen-driven 2040 Vision Strategic Plan.

The Housing Needs Assessment and Housing Plan addresses the city’s most pressing housing needs. The outcome of this effort is a Vision Statement, Goals, and Strategies to diversify housing in the city, so that young adults, seniors, persons living alone, and local workers have access to housing that meets their needs, while incentivizing development that is designed well and furthers the goals of the General Plan.

In accordance with SB1162, the city shall publish a Housing Needs Assessment beginning January 1, 2025, and every five years thereafter. See the latest reporting requirements of Arizona Senate Bill 1161 Section 3 Title 9-469.

The Area Transportation Plan (ATP) has been developed to serve as the City’s Long‐Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The ATP specifies policies, projects, and programs necessary to maintain, manage, and improve the community’s transportation systems. The ATP, therefore, is an integrated planning document addressing transportation needs relative to existing and anticipated future land use patterns that responds to policies associated with environmental quality and community quality of life.

The Seven Ranches Land Use Study is intended to set a direction, define a vision and establish a plan to guide the City regarding future land use development on approximately 280 acres of land located south of Honeycutt Road between Porter Road on the west, and White and Parker Road on the east. This plan is FLEXIBLE and will change over time but the guiding principles that are the basis of the plan are well established and have been successfully used in other communities to create vibrant places to live, work, shop and recreate.
