Home MenuBid Opportunities
Whether it’s smoother roads, vibrant parks, or exciting new community events, many improvements in the City of Maricopa begin with a vision and a call for partners to help make it real.
Through Invitations for Bid (IFBs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs), the city works with contractors, businesses, nonprofits, and creative professionals to bring bold ideas to life while ensuring fairness, transparency, and value for residents.
How the Process Works
Invitation for Bid (IFB)
When the city leads a project. such as road construction or infrastructure upgrades. we issue an IFB. This process is focused on securing the most qualified contractor at the most competitive price.
Request for Proposal (RFP)
For projects that emphasize creativity and collaboration, the city issues an RFP. Proposals are evaluated on overall approach, experience, and qualifications, not just cost. For example, Maricopa’s business park was made possible through the RFP process, which invited developers to share innovative ideas for how to use city-owned land.
Our Commitment to Fairness
Every IFB or RFP follows a process designed to ensure equal opportunity:
- All postings are available through the city’s procurement portal and local publications.
- Registered vendors receive alerts when new opportunities are available.
- Vendor questions are answered publicly so all applicants have the same information.
- Proposals are reviewed by a panel using clear, published criteria.
- Selected vendors receive an “Intent to Award” before entering the contract process.
This process helps the city invest public resources responsibly while opening the door for skilled professionals to play a direct role in shaping Maricopa’s future.
