A row of colorful suburban houses with manicured lawns and young trees line a quiet street under a blue sky, exuding a peaceful neighborhood vibe.

2020 was a year like no other, but for the City of Maricopa, a lot of positive steps were taken this year to better serve our residents and business community, including the new Project Liaison Program. The Project Liaison Program introduces a single point of contact assigned to every project, with the goal of making development as simple and speedy as possible.

Navigating the development process on your own can be intimidating and time-consuming. From site requirements to necessary permits, there are a lot of details that go into your budding enterprise. Fortunately, you are not on your own at the City of Maricopa. Your Project Liaison shall serve as the ombudsman to coordinate staff processes. You will no longer need to go to multiple departments and speak with multiple staff regarding various aspects of your development approval process, you will work with your assigned Project Liaison to receive a one-stop shop approach to development projects. Staff will work internally to resolve issues and reach out with your Project Liaison with one unified message.

The Project Liaison provides tailored assistance to new entrepreneurs and projects, from the Preliminary-Application to your Grand Opening, we want to work with you to help ensure a smooth ascension of your venture.

According to Damon Norris, Director of Operations for A+ Charter Schools, “The City of Maricopa's new Project Liaison Program has truly been a positive for A+ Charter Schools. Our Liaison has tirelessly worked to help the project move along almost flawlessly. The program makes it feel like you have another team member at City Hall to help pull everything together from the start to the finish line. Without this program and our liaison working with our team on the ground we would have never been able to expedite the build like we have been able to. A+ Charter Schools is excited to be one of the first successful projects under this new city program!”

The Economic & Community Development team looks forward to continuing to serve the community, and finding more ways to improve in the new year.
