Park 48 (Civic Center Park / Iconic Park)
Previously referred to as Civic Center Park and Iconic Park - is envisioned as a 55‑acre signature destination located just east of City Hall. Designed as a “love letter to Arizona,” the park blends bold, imaginative features with tributes to the state’s most iconic landscapes and cultural landmarks. At the heart of the design is Maricopa Wells Lake, a 3.43‑acre water feature framed by playgrounds, covered splash pads, and all set among Sedona‑inspired red‑rock formations and sculptural shade structures. The concept organizes the park into themed zones that celebrate well‑known Arizona destinations, creating a uniquely immersive experience not found elsewhere in the region. The plan also includes picnic areas, an amphitheater opening onto a large event lawn, a dog park, and courts for volleyball, pickleball, and basketball. While the design remains conceptual, Park 48 represents a bold vision for a truly iconic civic space - a park that showcases Arizona’s beauty, supports major community events, and provides year‑round recreation for residents and visitors alike.
