More and more people are choosing bicycles and e-bikes for transportation, recreation, exercise and everyday travel. As their popularity grows, so does their appeal to thieves. One of the best ways to help the Maricopa Police Department combat bike theft is to properly secure your bike and register its identifying information.

This registration form is for bicycle and E-bike registration only. Providing your bike’s serial number and other identifying information helps law enforcement identify and return a recovered or stolen bike to its rightful owner.

Theft Prevention Tips

• Register your bike – Complete the registration form below and provide accurate information about your bike, including its serial number and other identifying details. Keep a copy of your registration for your records.
• Never leave your bike unattended – Whenever possible, keep your bike in a secure location when you are not riding it.
• Lock it! – Always use a high-quality, high-security lock when leaving your bike unattended. Secure it to a designated bike rack or other sturdy, permanent object in a well-lit area with regular pedestrian traffic. Whenever possible, lock the frame and rear wheel rather than relying on a lock through the front wheel alone.
• Record identifying information – Keep your bike's serial number, make, model, color and other identifying features in a safe place. Photos of your bike can also be helpful if it is ever stolen.
• Report suspicious activity – If you see suspicious activity around bicycles or bike parking areas, report it to the Maricopa Police Department. If your bike is stolen, report the theft as soon as possible.
