There’s always something happening in Maricopa! Out & About Maricopa is your go-to guide for discovering recreation programs, community events, local entertainment, seasonal activities, and more. From City programs and family-friendly activities to local organizations, nonprofits, and businesses, find what’s happening, discover something new, and make the most of life in Maricopa.

Out & About Maricopa is published quarterly, with new editions anticipated in September, December, March, and June. They will include events over the following three-month window.

Maricopa residents can expect to find a printed copy of each edition inside their delivered Maricopa Monitor during the months the guide is published. Each edition will also be available online, making it easy to browse wherever you are.

Looking for what’s happening right now? You don’t have to wait for the next quarterly edition. The online community calendar is a living, breathing resource that is updated throughout the year with upcoming events, activities, and opportunities from around Maricopa.

Why was Out & About Maricopa created?

Out & About Maricopa was created to make it easier for residents to discover what’s happening in their community and find new ways to get involved.

The publication brings together City recreation programs, community events, entertainment, seasonal activities and offerings from local organizations and businesses—giving residents one place to discover what to see, where to go and what to do in Maricopa.

Is there a cost to get a copy of Out & About Maricopa?

No! Out & About Maricopa is free for Maricopa residents.

Printed copies are included with your delivered Maricopa Monitor during the months each quarterly edition is published. You can also view the guide online at no cost, anytime.

And if you’re looking for the most up-to-date information between editions, the online Community Calendar is available year-round to help you stay connected to what’s happening around Maricopa.

How can an event be added to the community calendar?

Have an event, activity or opportunity happening in Maricopa? We’d love to hear about it!

Visit the Community Calendar and click “Submit an Event.” Your submission will be reviewed to make sure it meets the calendar’s criteria, starting with whether it is a recreation, entertainment or community event taking place within the City of Maricopa.

Once approved, your event will be added to the online Community Calendar and may also be considered for inclusion in an upcoming printed edition of Out & About Maricopa.

How can we support this publication?

The best way to support Out & About Maricopa is to use it, share it and be part of it!

If you’re a local business, organization, nonprofit or community group, consider advertising in the publication to showcase your programs or upcoming offerings to Maricopa residents. Advertising opportunities are available at reduced rates, thanks to the City’s support of the publication.

You can also help grow the guide by sharing it with your customers, members, friends and neighbors and submitting eligible events and activities to the Community Calendar.

Who produces Out & About Maricopa?

Out & About Maricopa is a community partnership between the City of Maricopa, Greater Maricopa Business Alliance (GMBA), and Casa Grande Valley Newspapers, Inc. (CGVNI), bringing together community programming, local businesses, organizations and events in one resource for Maricopa residents.

Is every event submitted guaranteed to appear in the printed guide?

Not necessarily. Approved events will be added to the online Community Calendar, while inclusion in the quarterly printed edition is subject to available space, publication timelines and the guide's content criteria. If you have questions about your event being included, contact info@maricopachamber.org.

Does the City endorse the businesses or organizations featured?

Inclusion in Out & About Maricopa does not constitute an endorsement by the City of Maricopa. The guide is intended to provide residents with information about recreation, entertainment, events and other opportunities available within the community.
