Visitors to Maricopa's largest park are in for a treat as exciting investments take shape! Construction kicks off this week on two attractive additions at Copper Sky Park. A new pier, accenting the lake, and a climate-controlled patio on the east side of the recreation facility will soon become focal points, elevating the park's reputation as a regional recreational hub.

City Manager Rick Horst expressed enthusiasm, stating, "These new additions not only align with Maricopa's commitment to providing top-quality recreational facilities, but also present significant opportunities for increased recreation. We anticipate these projects will enhance the overall experience for the thousands who visit our park annually."

In the broader context of the residential and retail projects taking shape in the commercial areas surrounding Copper Sky, including plans for Maricopa’s second hospital, these amenities aim to solidify the area as a thriving community destination.

Construction is scheduled to commence on Friday, January 12, and is expected to continue through May. As work begins, visitors are advised to be mindful of two small fenced areas that will be temporarily off-limits. The most notable impact will be the temporary lowering of water levels in the lake during the construction of the pier. This phase of the project is projected to begin at the end of January and last approximately one month. Fishing will be available throughout the entire project.
