Maricopa Volunteers Deliver Critical Supplies to Healthcare Workers an

Difficult times have a way of showing the best of humanity and this week we witnessed this throughout our City: neighbors helping neighbors. One such example is from the City of Maricopa Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), an all-volunteer team comprised of Maricopa residents trained to aid in disaster relief and large-scale events.

Maricopa and Florence CERT teams partnered on Monday to assist in the preparation and distribution of critical personal protective equipment (PPE), delivering items such as gloves, face shields, eye protection, N95 respirators, surgical masks, and isolation gowns from a national stockpile throughout agencies in Pinal County.

Thanks to their efforts, public safety entities and hospitals countywide received much-needed supplies within a day of arrival, helping to ensure that first responders and healthcare workers are protected and able to care for the community.

“We are incredibly proud of the members of the CERT team,” said MFMD Assistance Chief Brad Pitassi. “They are humble, professional, dedicated to helping others, and embody the values of our department and community. When the call came in…we deployed the team with confidence, knowing they are ready and able to serve.”
