Bike Safety Tips

Teaching kids to ride safely starts with simple habits.

Always wear a helmet
Helmets significantly reduce the risk of serious head injuries.

Follow the rules of the road
Bicycles must follow the same traffic rules as vehicles.

Ride where drivers can see you
Stay visible and make eye contact with drivers when possible.

Use hand signals
Let drivers and other riders know when you are turning or stopping.

Check your bike before riding
Make sure brakes work, tires are inflated, and chains are secure.
