The Maricopa City Council held a special session Tuesday night to interview top candidates and fill a vacancy left by Rich Vitiello.

Thirteen individuals applied for the position during the application window, with the council selecting three individuals for interviews.

They included:

  • Adam Leach
  • James Singleton
  • AnnaMarie Knorr

Knorr was selected as the newest council member following a unanimous vote by the current members of the city council.

“I am deeply honored and humbled by the council’s trust in me,” Knorr shared. “I’m ready to roll up my sleeves, listen to the community, and be a part of all the positive changes happening in Maricopa.”

Knorr will be sworn in during the next regular council meeting, which is scheduled for May 7, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. She will serve the remainder of the term vacated by Vitiello, which is until December of 2026.
