It seems like only yesterday when Sonoran Creek Marketplace broke ground in October 2020. After two years, this rapidly growing development is about to be full. With only a handful of retail spaces available, this premier shopping center is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations in the community.

Just one year later after the shovels hit the dirt, Sprouts Farmers Market opened their doors. They assisted in encouraging smaller retail stores such as Pet Planet, Supercuts, as well as new restaurants including MOD Pizza, and Jimmy John’s to make Sonoran Creek Marketplace their new home. The addition of Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers, which opens its doors this month, will provide another tasty dining option for Maricopa residents and visitors.

One of the biggest questions we get from our residents is “What’s coming next?” We know our community is always hungry for more options. They are constantly on the lookout for news and information regarding the latest big box retailer or restaurant teasing their next location within our city limits. This hunger is backed up by quite a bit of money as the City loses $1 million a day in leakage to other communities that have a wider variety of spending options.

This new retail oasis attracted a lot of new traffic to the area. Finding a space for the next restaurant or service business might prove difficult as competition is mounting quickly. Additional sections of retail space recently completed construction and are scheduled to be home to a couple of familiar names including Thai Chili 2 Go and a NextCare facility. Both of these establishments have received their permits to begin construction and are looking to get started right away. It will be a race for prospective retailers to secure the few remaining spaces left at Sonoran Creek Marketplace.

Sonoran Creek Marketplace isn’t the only space that’s hot on the bed of activity. To learn more about the latest and future developments in your community, visitwww.WhatsNewMaricopa.com.
