In a unanimous vote Tuesday night, the City of Maricopa Council accepted the resignation of Councilmember Rich Vitiello. The resignation will take effect April 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Vitiello says he is making the move in order to pursue a position as a Pinal County Supervisor. "As I look back on my time serving the wonderful community of Maricopa, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions,” Vitiello says. “It's been six incredible years filled with joy, challenges, and unforgettable moments. While saying goodbye is tough, I'm excited for what the future holds.” Pursuant to the City Code and Arizona Revised Statures, the vacancy will be filled by appointment by the remaining members of Council. Details of that process will be released at a later date.
