The Keep Maricopa Beautiful initiative began just over one year ago and since then, hundreds of members of the community have come out and volunteered their time and support towards the cause. Many local businesses have also pledged their support and we sat down with Kimber Webster, owner of Masai's Playhouse to learn more about what Keep Maricopa Beautiful means to them. What impact has the Keep Maricopa Beautiful business partnership had on your business and day-to-day practices?
“Our routine of checking our to-do list off each day is like second nature and the children have a habit of pointing out when our entry area isn’t looking spotless! They pick up even the smallest pieces of trash from the ground to help “keep the earth healthy”!
Teaching the children from a young age that they can play a part in big change is something we love to do as parents and early childhood educators and the [Keep Maricopa Beautiful] campaign has allowed us to give the children another small sense of responsibility that adds to their confidence and reminds them that keeping our planet and community beautiful is a job even they can do! Thank you so much for creating this opportunity and I hope the community continues to support and encourage one another to our best to keep Maricopa looking awesome!
