Henry Wade has officially been named Maricopa’s Vice Mayor for the year 2025. His fellow council members voted unanimously for the appointment following the nomination by Vice Mayor Amber Liermann at Tuesday night’s meeting.

With this appointment, Wade steps into the role for a second time during his city council tenure. He previously served for the 2019 calendar year.

“This opportunity allows me to work even more closely with our council and residents to drive initiatives that make Maricopa a city we’re all proud to call home,” Wade said.

Outgoing Vice Mayor Amber Liermann shared her thoughts on the transition.

“Representing Maricopa in the role of Vice Mayor locally and regionally has been an honor. I am grateful for the relationships built and experiences that have helped Council achieve our goals. I am humbled to have assisted the Mayor in fulfilling her duties.” Liermann expressed. “Wade is a long-time leader in Maricopa, and his willingness to serve his community so sacrificially is inspiring."

Wade is serving his third term on Council and is an Air Force Retired Veteran who, until his recent retirement, served 12 years as Director of Housing Counseling Services for Chicanos Por La Causa, a HUD Approved Housing Counseling Services Agency.
