In December 2019, Officer Christopher Johnson responded to W. Kingfisher Dr. in reference to a landscaper who was unconscious and his coworkers were giving him CPR. Officers arrived on scene prior to the Maricopa Fire Department. They discovered the subject had a pulse but was completely unresponsive. Officer Johnson made the swift judgment to provide Narcan to the downed subject. Within moments of Officer Johnson administering the drug the 19-year-old subject was alert. Maricopa Fire Department praised him on scene for his quick judgement and use of the Narcan.

The downed subject appeared to be just moments away from death and because of the actions of Officer Christopher Johnson this person survived and was transported to Chandler Regional Hospital. This month, Officer Johnson received the Life Saving Award for his valiant efforts in rescuing a member of our community. Thank you Officer Johnson for your quick thinking that saved the life of one of our citizens.
