How to Get Involved

Give back to your community while meeting great people at our popular Keep Maricopa Beautiful Quarterly Community Cleanups! Cleanups are scheduled on every 5th Saturday of the month.
- The next events scheduled for 2026 are as follows:
  - May 30
  - August 29
  - October 31
- For each cleanup event, all you have to do is select an area in your neighborhood or community and start cleaning between 8a.m. and 9a.m.
- Be sure to properly dispose of any collected waste. Our Public Works department will not be assisting in collecting trash for this event.

If you come across items that need city attention (large debris, hazardous waste, etc.), please email brenda.campbell@maricopa-az.gov so we can coordinate removal
If you’re earning community service hours, your participation counts for 2 hours! Email your photos to brenda.campbell@maricopa-az.gov to record your hours

The City of Maricopa is a beautiful community, with a rich history, beautiful views, caring residents and thriving economic future. As the city continues to grow, we ask our valued community members to help maintain, and even improve, our living conditions and environment by supporting the Keep Maricopa Beautiful initiative.

Keep Maricopa Beautiful is a citywide program that promotes anti-littering efforts through education, community events, resident engagement and - if needed - enforcement. The program promotes a trash- and litter- free city and discourages littering and dumping in the community. The City of Maricopa will be reaching out to area businesses to help advocate the campaign and facilitating city-wide cleanup events. We also encourage residents to report areas with an overabundance of litter and trash on our Citizen Request Portal. Thank you for your continued support in taking pride in your neighborhoods and community and for making Maricopa an ideal place to live and grow.

For Residents

Residents can do their part and participate in a number of ways in order to Keep Maricopa Beautiful:

Place shopping carts back in their appropriate return area
Tag us on social media to highlight all your cleaning efforts at #keepmaricopabeautiful

For Businesses

Keep Maricopa Beautiful is a citywide initiative that promotes anti-littering efforts through education, community events, and, if needed, enforcement. Keep Maricopa Beautiful promotes a trash- and litter-free city and discourages littering and dumping in the community.

We ask that you, our local business owners/managers, support ‘Keeping Maricopa Beautiful’ by doing the following:

Maintain the trash receptacles outside your business, keeping them clean and ensuring they don’t overflow;
ensure the perimeter around your dumpster(s) is clean and now overflowing, or notify your property manager (if applicable) if my dumpster overflows on a consistent basis;
pick up litter outside your storefront and the parking stalls within view of your storefront; and
direct patrons interested in getting involved to www.keepmaricopabeautiful.com for community cleanup opportunities.
Home-based businesses: commit to picking up litter around your neighborhood.

We also encourage you to report areas with an overabundance of trash and litter to our Code Enforcement Department on the Keep Maricopa Beautiful website as well. These actions could potentially lead to a Notice of Violation or immediate citation. Learn more about our City Code compliance standards.

If you commit to maintaining a clean business and make notable improvements to reduce litter, we will provide you with a vinyl window sticker that recognizes you for doing your part as well as complimentary cleaning kit. You can also encourage your patrons to take a picture in front of your business and email it to KMB@maricopa-az.gov or post and/or hashtag #KeepMaricopaBeautiful on their social media accounts to highlight your business contributions. The goal of Keep Maricopa Beautiful is to prevent littering, promote good habits for a litter-free city and get the community working together to make Maricopa a wonderful place to live, work and play.
