The Maricopa City Council canvassed the results of the July 2026 Primary Election during its regular meeting Tuesday evening, certifying the official election results.
Three City Council seats were on the ballot. Under Arizona law and the Maricopa City Code, a candidate must receive a majority of the votes required for the office to be declared elected at the primary election. The required majority is determined by dividing the total number of votes cast for all candidates by the number of seats to be filled and then dividing that result by two.
Based on the certified results, incumbent Councilmember AnnaMarie Knorr received the required majority for a seat and was elected to a four-year term beginning December 1, 2026.
The remaining two City Council seats will be decided during the November General Election, as the count threshold was not met. The four candidates receiving the highest number of votes will advance to the general election:
Tena Dugan
Henry Wade
Vincent Manfredi
Crystal O'Jon
