Beyond the Music: The City Behind Wild West Music Fest
Published on March 20, 2025
Wild West Music Fest isn’t just about the music—it’s about Maricopa. From April 4-6, the festival brings more than entertainment; it strengthens community bonds, boosts local businesses, and showcases the city’s growth.
“The way we were raised, if you live in a community, you want to work with the community, you want to support the community,” Maricopa resident Jenelle Clark shares.
She says she attended all three days of the event in 2023 and was eager to buy tickets again this year.
“Everyone needs to come at least one day because we were only going to come one day, and we ended up coming all three days last year,” Clark adds.
That spirit of connection extends beyond festivalgoers. For local businesses and vendors, Wild West Music Fest is also a chance to thrive.
“We love doing city-hosted events because they bring the most people,” explains Sheena Rodgers, owner of Mo-B’s Detroit Coney.
Adding that the exposure from the festival often leads to long-term benefits, including repeat customers and expanded opportunities beyond Maricopa.
“We always meet new people at events, especially when people come from other cities. By doing events here in Maricopa, we’ve gotten business out in other cities,” Rodgers says.
For vendors like Isai Solis of Creamyleta, it’s more than just sales—it’s about growing alongside the city.
“We’re local. We want to expand our customer base and meet new people,” Solis said.
As the festival continues to support local businesses, it also reinforces Maricopa’s identity as a dynamic and evolving city.
“I think it’s a great idea to bring more things to do within our community. I think it helps bring our community together,” says Maricopa resident Shanni Smith.
“Since we’ve moved here six years ago, I know it’s been growing super fast. And I know there’s more to come,” says Diana Solis, a vendor with Creamyleta.
Wild West Music Fest takes place April 4-6. For those looking to experience the event firsthand, tickets are still available at Tixr, and more details can be found at WWMFest.com.
