MARICOPA, Ariz. – The City of Maricopa is launching a new pilot vending program at Copper Sky Regional Park on Monday, November 2, introducing rentable kiosks, mobile vending carts and hawker carrying trays for permitted vendors.
Developed in response to interest from community members and City Council, the pilot program will provide flexible, affordable vending options while allowing the City to evaluate demand, long-term sustainability and opportunities for future expansion.
“We want Copper Sky to be a place that not only brings our community together but also creates opportunities for local businesses,” said Rocky Brown, City of Maricopa Parks and Recreation Director. “This program gives entrepreneurs another way to reach customers while adding to the experience for residents and visitors.”
Three Rental Options Available
Vendors will be able to choose from three equipment rental options based on their needs:
Hawker Carrying Tray
- $5 per hour
- $20 for a five-hour rental
- Available for outdoor use throughout Copper Sky Regional Park
Mobile Vending Cart or/ Copper Sky Kiosks
- $25 per hour
- $100 for a five-hour rental
- $150 for an all-day rental
- $100 refundable deposit
- Can operate throughout the park or as a stationary setup inside the Fieldhouse at Copper Sky or Copper Sky Multigenerational Center
How It Works
Reservations will be managed through ActiveNet , with equipment pickup and return at the Copper Sky Multigenerational Center Front Desk during facility operating hours.
All participating vendors must obtain the necessary City permits and display them while operating.
The program will also operate in accordance with Arizona's Business Enterprise Program (BEP), preserving exclusive indoor vending machine operations for licensed blind and deaf vendors.
By creating new opportunities for vendors to serve parkgoers, the City hopes to make Copper Sky an even more welcoming and convenient destination for recreation, sports and community gatherings.
Additional information about the program and equipment reservations will be available as the launch approaches.
