The City of Maricopa ranked the 5th fastest-growing large city in the nation, according to the U.S. Census Bureau's latest numbers. The report looked at cities with a population larger than 50,000 and found that Maricopa saw a 7.1% increase in residents, with our population as of 7/1/23 listed at 71,022. Growth That Benefits Everyone This surge in population isn't just a number – it translates into real benefits for our residents.
These numbers are part of an annual estimate the Bureau releases, while the official census is conducted every 10 years. Local estimates are commonly higher as they account for the rate of growth from the previous year as well as the addition of new housing over the course of the current year. Here’s a look at how housing progressed in Maricopa since 7/1/23.
