The City of Maricopa hosted a modified version of their annual Merry Copa event entitled Merry Movies Under the Stars where the community was invited to sit at the park and enjoy a pair of holiday films along with popcorn and hot cocoa. Local business and vendors were also in attendance feeding families and supporting our community.
At the end of the first showing of films, the community were treated to a tree lighting ceremony hosted by Mayor Price and members of City Council along with a special visit from Santa Claus riding in on a unique sleigh in the form of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Afterwards, the night's sky was lit up with a brilliant display of fireworks set to the holiday-themed tunes of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
