New Oversized Load Permit Requirement – Effective July 1, 2026
Effective July 1, 2026, the City of Maricopa is implementing a new permit requirement for oversized loads traveling across City limits.
Previously, carriers only needed to contact the City by email or phone to obtain travel clearance. Beginning July 15th, 2026, all oversized loads crossing City limits must obtain an Oversized Load Permit through the City's online permitting portal prior to travel.
To allow sufficient time for review and coordination, permit applications must be submitted at least three (3) business days before the requested travel date.
For permit processing purposes, business days are Monday through Thursday. Fridays, weekends, and City-observed holidays are not considered business days.
Carriers are encouraged to submit complete applications as early as possible. Applications received fewer than three business days before the requested travel date may not be processed in time for the requested travel date.
