The Maricopa Library and Cultural Center hosted a blood drive this afternoon welcoming the community to volunteer and give the gift of life. Vitalant, a non-profit organization, was on hand to facilitate the donations.

"We received such a wonderful response from the community," said Rebecca Check, Administrative Assistant at the MLCC. "We were originally hoping for twenty volunteers but we were overwhelmed by the amount of people wanting to sign up that we had almost 50 sign up with well over a week to go before the event started."

Due to the incredible response, the MLCC has already planned the next blood drive for later this summer. If you're interested in participating, please stay tuned to ourFacebookpage or sign up for ournewsletterfor the official announcement.
