Are you ready to become the voice for your generation and help shape the future of your community? The City of Maricopa is calling on the next generation of leaders to step forward! Applications are now open for the Maricopa Youth Council. This is an amazing opportunity for young people to get involved in local government, learn more about their municipality, develop leadership skills, and make their voices heard in the community.

The vision of the Maricopa Youth Council is simple yet powerful: to empower caring youth dedicated to personal development and leadership. Being part of this council not only shapes tomorrow’s leaders but also your personal future, as membership looks outstanding on college applications.

Members of the Youth Council gain hands-on experience by learning how city government works, helping organize community programs, and representing youth perspectives at important city events.

Just this week, our current Youth Council members attended the League of Arizona Cities and Towns’ Annual Conference. There, they were able to meet other like-minded youth from across the state of Arizona and learn how they can be advocates for the causes they are passionate about.

This past Spring, a group was able to join State Representatives Teresa Martinez and Chris Lopez, and State Senator T.J. Shope for a tour of the Arizona legislature. An opportunity many say changed their perspective on how action and advocacy come together and shape our lives as citizens.
