Will the police department recommend an alarm company, brand of pepper spray, or anything else?

The Maricopa Police Department cannot recommend particular brands or companies.

Who do I call to report graffiti?

You can call the city's Graffiti Hotline at 520-316-6800, through the Maricopa PD app, or online at Maricopa E-Gov.

They will make arrangements to paint over the graffiti if it is not on private property.

Where can I get an Order of Protection or an Injunction Against Harassment?

These are issued through the Court. In Maricopa, visit the Maricopa Municipal Court, 19955 N. Wilson Avenue for information.

What are the lobby hours of the police department?

The lobby at at the main station, 39675 West Civic Center Plaza, is open during normal business hours, 7am to 6pm, Monday through Thursday, Friday is 8am to 5pm excluding holidays.

There is a house on my block that is always having parties and being loud. Is there anything I can do?

My neighbor's dog is always barking. What can I do? Can I remain anonymous?

Animal Control hours of operation at Maricopa City Hall: Tuesdays from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The City of Maricopa contracts with Pinal County Animal Control for animal control services. Animal Control handles all calls related to problem animals including:

  • Barking dogs
  • Stray, loose or abandoned animals
  • Wild or game animals
  • Animal bites
  • Trapped or lost pets

Pinal County Animal Control can be requested through police communications at (520) 866-5111. If an animal is vicious or aggressive, call 911 & the Maricopa Police Department will respond.

If an animal is posing a threat to the public or traffic flow, you can call the police emergency number at 9-1-1.

All other calls should be directed to the Animal Control office: (520) 509-3555, or Pinal County Animal Control.

If I suspect drug activity, a drug house, or meth lab in my neighborhood, who do I call?

You can call the Hotline at (520) 316-6800 to report any suspected drug activity, or submit information anonymously using our Maricopa PD app.

I need to be fingerprinted for a job. Does the Maricopa Police Department do public fingerprinting?

The Maricopa Police Department does not provide fingerprinting services for employment, background checks, etc.

Please check the yellow pages of the phone book under Fingerprinting for places that offer this service. You may also try a search through DexKnows Online.

Fingerprint Clearance Cards for DES and DHS purposes are done through the Department of Public Safety.

I collect police patches; can I get a patch?

At this time we do not provide patches to collectors.

I am trying to find a phone number for a specific area within the police department. Why aren't the phone numbers on the home page?

There is a "Directory" link on the Maricopa PD App. That will list the numbers for each area in the department.

I'd like to start a Neighborhood Watch. Who do I contact for information?

For information about the Neighborhood Watch program and how to start one please email us at block.watch@maricopa-az.gov.

How do I know if I should dial 911 or the regular police non-emergency number?

If the situation is life threatening or there is a crime in progress, call 911.

If you want to report a crime that has already occurred, report suspicious activity, have a non-emergency situation or have a question, you may use the Maricopa PD app or call 520-568-3673, the non-emergency number.

How do I get crime statistics (calls for service)?

Calls for Service can be viewed on a map by visiting www.CityProtect.com and entering an address to search on. By clicking on the crime icons, you can see the date, time, case number and what type of call it was.

Does the officer have to contact me in person?

Depending on the situation, it may be possible for an officer to contact you by phone.

How do I get a copy of a police report?

Information about requesting a copy of a police report can be found on our Police Records page.

Do I have to leave my name when I call the police department?

No, you may report an incident anonymously. You will always be asked if you want to leave your name and if you want an officer to contact you.

How do I find out about sex offenders in my neighborhood?

The Maricopa Police Department uses OffenderWatch to manage and monitor the whereabouts of sex offenders living in the City of Maricopa. Through this program, you can create an alert to notify you by e-mail whenever a sex offender moves within a mile of the address you provide.

Visit the Department of Public Safety's Sex Offender Info Center to view sex offenders throughout the State of Arizona. You will able to search by zip code and/or name.

How do I file a police report?

If a crime is in progress, you should call the emergency number (911) depending on the severity of the situation. Reports can also be filed by coming to the police headquarters building located at, 18135 N Park Plaza, Maricopa, AZ 85138 during normal business hours – 7am to 6pm, Monday through Thursday; Friday is 8am to 7pm, excluding holidays.

What if I accidentally dial 911?

If you accidentally call 911, stay on the line and advise the operator that the call was made in error. They will ask you a few questions to be sure you are not having an emergency before disconnecting.

How do I dispose of Prescription Drugs?

Federal prescription drug disposal guidelines urge residents to dispose of any unused, unneeded or expired medication in the trash or take them to a pharmaceutical take-back location for safe disposal. Residents are being asked to avoid throwing them down the drain as the drugs may pass through sewage treatment plants and septic tanks into surface waters, soils, and the groundwater.

Maricopa PD has drop-off boxes located at each of their facilities.

Why can't you take all calls for service on 911 lines?

Maricopa does not have unlimited 911 lines. These lines are answered in a priority over non-emergency telephone lines. If all 911 lines are tied up on non-emergency calls, and an emergency occurs, calls will be routed to a back-up 911 center, which will delay emergency response.

How do I compliment or make a complaint against and officer or thank them for something they've done?

What if I don't know if my situation is an emergency or not?

If you are not sure if your situation is or is not an emergency, you may call 911. If your situation is not an emergency, the 911 Operator will provide the non-emergency telephone number and ask you to call back.

How can I tell if a vehicle I want to purchase is stolen?

The Arizona Attorney General's Office has a website where you can enter the license plate number or the vehicle identification number (VIN) to see if the vehicle has been reported as stolen to law enforcement.
