The Council unanimously selected Councilmember Vincent Manfredi to serve as the City’s Vice Mayor for 2026. Councilmember Manfredi is no stranger to the role. He previously served as Vice Mayor in 2022 as well as Mayor when his predecessor Christian Price, had resigned.

Councilmember Manfredi serves on several transportation committees across the state which will be helpful as the City prepares for the upcoming SR 347 Widening Project to begin later next year. His tenure as Vice Mayor will begin on January 1, 2026.

Citizen Leadership Academy Graduates Recognized

The 26th session of the Maricopa Citizen Leadership Academy wrapped up with a moment of celebration as graduates were recognized during the meeting. Over the past five weeks, these residents invested their time in learning how local government works, meeting with elected leaders, and connecting with the teams who keep the city running.

Copper Sky’s New Building Receives a Name

One of the biggest announcements of the night courted the opinion of elected officials throughout the evening. The newest building at Copper Sky officially has a name: The Fieldhouse at Copper Sky. After sorting through several strong options, this name rose to the top and will soon represent one of the City’s most exciting additions.

The Fieldhouse is designed to be a true community hub and destination location, featuring 4 basketball courts, 6 volleyball courts, and 12 pickleball courts. Construction is moving along, and the facility is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2026. It’s set to bring even more opportunities for recreation, connection, and community pride to Copper Sky.

The approved changes include updates to the City’s Health & Safety regulations, Subdivision requirements, and Zoning standards. These updates help ensure our community continues to grow responsibly, streamline development processes, as well as maintain clear expectations for residents and businesses alike.
